TASTING NOTES

The Cantina di Poggio al Tesoro is located between the Tuscan hills, in area covering 70 hectares of vineyards grown with respect for the microclimate and nature, with a view to organic and sustainable agriculture. Found in the Le Sondraie vineyard, where the soils have a characteristic iron and magnesium content: Rosso Mediterra IGT takes shape here, 25 metres above sea level. Made up of 40% Syrah and the rest divided into equal amounts of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, once pressed, the grapes are fermented in stainless steel for 12 days. The blend is then aged for eight months in second-use barriques. Mediterra is a wine with an intense red colour, strongly indicating a wine with impressive body and personality. The typical peppery notes of blackberry and red berry fruit are the result of a very accomplished and popular blend which combines the identifying notes of the three varieties from which it is made. An everyday wine to be drunk with a delicious rare steak, and in any case with red meats: a sip of Tuscany from a different perspective.

Since its founding, the Poggio al Tesoro winery has set itself a delicate yet ambitious goal: to create a series of multifaceted wines with a strong identity, and able to enhance the unique characteristics of a land as wonderful as Tuscany. The winery, in fact, rises right among the gentle contours of the hills of this region, and takes care of every stage of production to create complex and elegant Tuscan wines that tell their origins and their story in every glass. Extraordinary work, which grows from year to year, and gives the final product a unique depth. The winery's territories extend over seventy hectares, farmed with care and full respect for its microclimate and minerals, for organic and sustainable viticulture that enhances the land and does the winery's work justice.
