TASTING NOTES

Tenuta di Trinoro was born from the intuition of Andrea Franchetti, who entered the world of wine production in the 90s upon buying a disused farmhouse near the town of Sarteano. On this property, Andrea Franchetti decided to plant international varieties and to apply what he had learned from the great Bordeaux masters, with the aim of maintaining a high quality of product, low yields, and carrying out drastic bunch cutting by harvesting only at full phenolic ripening. This allows for a very high concentration of substances within the selected bunches, essential for expressing the relationship and harmony between the soil, the variety and the climate. Le Cupole is the younger brother of the Tenuta di Trinoro estate, obtained by blending Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot grape varieties, from younger vineyards and in deeper soils. The first harvest was reaped in 1995 and since then it has become a classic among the most accessible Supertuscans. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats, ageing is in second and third use barriques and the final blending is done in concrete tanks. Tenuta di Trinoro

The Tenuta di Trinoro winery is located in the Val d'Orcia, in the heart of the Tuscan countryside. A land that has always boasted inimitable and perfect characteristics in the production of the highest quality wines. The Trinoro winery does not just cultivate vineyards, but strives to enhance them by combining ancient techniques with modern studies to create excellent Tuscan wines that can represent the most characteristic and magical side of this land in every glass. The winery raises nearly 25 hectares of land to vineyards, seeking a perfect harmony between the soil, the microclimate and the natural rhythms of each vine. Experimentation and the constant search for balance are one of the strengths of the company's work. The vineyards are dense and low, in keeping with local tradition, planted on clay soil and raised using non-invasive techniques to ensure organic and sustainable viticulture. The main criterion of production aims at maximum concentration of grapes; for this very reason, harvests are carried out as late as possible.
