Joaquin’s Taurasi Riserva della Società is produced in the historic vineyards of Irpinia, from Aglianico grapes selected with great care. The vines, grown on volcanic and limestone soils, guarantee high-quality grapes with great character. Harvesting is done by hand, with rigorous selection of the bunches. Vinification involves spontaneous fermentation in traditional vessels, followed by extended maceration on the skins to extract structure, colour and complex aromas. Ageing takes place in wooden barrels and continues in the bottle for years, allowing the wine to develop depth, elegance and an extraordinary ageing potential.
Visually, it presents an intense, luminous and deep ruby red colour. On the nose, it is complex and enveloping, with aromas of ripe red and black fruits—cherry, plum and blackberry—accompanied by notes of sweet and peppery spices, tobacco, leather and light balsamic undertones. On the palate, it is powerful and elegant, with dense, silky tannins, a vibrant freshness and an exceptionally long finish that echoes the fruity, spicy and mineral notes perceived on the nose.
A wine of great prestige and depth, ideal for special occasions and dedicated tastings. It pairs perfectly with substantial dishes such as roasts, braised meats, game, elaborate red meats and long-aged cheeses. Also perfect as a meditation wine.
To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.
