TASTING NOTES

Sant'Antimo Rosso Costa Colonne di Mastrojanni is made of Sangiovese grapes for the most part and a small % of Ciliegiolo and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is aged in casks for 12 months, partly in large oak barrels and partly in cement tanks. The glass is bright ruby red. The nose reveals notes of ripe red fruit with floral returns. On the palate it is enveloping with silky and velvety tannins. The perfect match with game meat, lamb, red grilled meats and mature cheeses. To fully appreciate the style, this wine must be served at a serving temperature of 16/18°C. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Mastrojanni

Since 1975, Cantina Mastrojanni has been writing Italian wine history with its Tuscan wines of excellence, achieving local and international recognition. One of the best-known producers of Brunello di Montalcino, the Mastrojanni winery has been able to make a qualitative change to the area's wine, employing traditional techniques combined with a strong passion for nature and the history of the land. The Mastrojanni farm is located in the heart of the Brunello land, in the province of Siena, where an ancient artistic and cultural tradition meet in an area dedicated to the production of this important wine, an area with varied and unique soils. Carrying on the traditions of Brunello processing, Mastrojanni opts to use brushed concrete vitrified wine vessels, essential in the micro-oxygenation process, to achieve the balance and taste of traditional Tuscan red wines. Today, the company works with more than 200 associate producers, involved in all processes, from grape picking to vinification in the winery, to ensure the production of a unique, high-quality Brunello di Montalcino. Name and address of producer/distributor: Mastrojanni - Poderi Loreto, 53024 Castelnuovo dell'Abate (SI). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
