A story of passion and tradition that has always characterised the family’s work. Azienda Tre Monti has passed down the secrets of Romagna viticulture from generation to generation, with the aim of creating wines of the highest quality from Emilia-Romagna. The vineyards of the Sangiovese di Romagna Riserva Oriolo Petrignone are situated in the Vigna dei Fichi on the Podere di Petrignone estate, at an altitude of around 150 metres above sea level. The soil in which these vines are rooted has a clayey and sandy composition with the presence of pebbles, producing wines with a structured character. The vineyard was planted in 1968 and represents the winery’s first Sangiovese reserve. The harvest takes place manually between late September and early October; once in the winery, the grapes undergo 12 days of maceration on the skins followed by alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel and vitrified concrete tanks. It is aged in third-use barriques for 6 months. 100 ml: E=330 kJ/79 kcal
Ruby red in colour with bright, intense highlights; the bouquet is broad, evoking ripe red-fleshed fruit and juicy black cherries, with spicy notes of black pepper on the finish; on the palate, it is elegant, enveloping and pleasantly tannic, with good length that invites further sipping.
It is ideal paired with dishes featuring cuts of red meat cooked on the grill or with fresh pasta dressed with elaborate sauces from the Romagna tradition. Perfect for savouring the typical cuisine of Romagna and its most authentic flavours.
To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.
