TASTING NOTES

Giallo d'Arles is a Cru produced with grapes from the Giallo d'Arles vineyard in Tufo. After a long pressing of the whole bunches, the draining must, protected from oxygen, is separated from the pressing must and clarified by natural sedimentation. Fermentation takes place for 70% in stainless steel vats and 30% in new oak barrels. The yellow-gold color is typical of the Denomination, made even more intense by the short stay, during fermentation, in small oak barrels and by the complete absence of clarification. Then follows an eight-month period of Élevage on fine lees rigorously resuspended in wine. The glass has a golden yellow-ochre tending to reddish, powerful and refined but with a good structure. Characterized by a deep minerality, prevail notes of apricot and quince jam, with a full and fresh taste. The name given to the wine is a tribute to Van Gogh’s favorite color, during his time in Arles, a yellow prelude to red. Excellent wine in combination with fish dishes or with eggs and pies. To fully appreciate the style, this Giallo d'Arles should be served at a service temperature of 10/12 ºC. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Quintodecimo

The company Quintodecimo represents a reality of quality reference of the entire panorama of wines from Campania. The name is a tribute to the ancient history of Mirabella Eclan, during the struggles between the Lombards and the Byzantines, destroyed by the Greek army of Constans II and called Quintum decimum because it is exactly 15 miles from ancient Benevento. Between the tenth and the eleventh century, the town moved on the ridge of the current hill, taking the name of Mirabella Eclano. Luigi Moio, after studying wine research in Burgundy, returned to Italy in the mid-nineties and from 2001, together with his wife Laura, he started the Quintodecimo company. The idea was to create wines that combine human wisdom and technique to a territory of excellence such as Irpinia. Name and address manufacturer/distributor: Quintodecimo - Via San Leonardo, 27 - 83036 Mirabella Eclano (AV). The products of this cellar should be stored in a cool and dry place away from heat sources.
