Production

Contadi Castaldi was founded in 1987, at the height of the Franciacorta boom, by Mariella and Vittorio Moretti. Contadi Castaldi quickly made a name for itself and gained recognition, thanks to the charisma and modern style of its sparkling wines, which are highly drinkable and versatile for all occasions. Contadi Castaldi’s Franciacorta Rosé is a sparkling wine of great fragrance and pleasure, made from 65% Chardonnay and 35% Pinot Noir. After the first fermentation and the creation of the cuvée, the wine rests on the lees for 24 to 30 months.

Organoleptic Characteristics

In the glass, this Rosé is pink in colour with coral hues, displaying a fine, persistent perlage; on the nose, it reveals elegant notes of grapefruit and small red berries, alongside hints of rose and white pepper. On the palate, it is well-balanced, with good structure and excellent drinkability thanks to its fruity acidity.

Occasion and Pairing

Ideal as a classic method rosé for aperitifs and throughout a meal, it pairs perfectly with fish and shellfish-based first courses, finger food and battered fried dishes.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 8–10°C.

The Conte Vistarino estate stands a short distance from the municipality of Rocca de' Giorgi in Oltrepo Pavese. Over time, the company has managed to maintain the fragile link between advanced viticulture techniques and terroir in one of the most unspoilt corners of Lombardy. The vines extend over more than 200 hectares, all registered in the Oltrepò Pavese DOC. They are mainly Pinot Noir and Riesling Renano, Pinot Grigio, Moscato, Croatina and Barbera. Each vine grows in the place best suited to it thanks to the work, care and commitment of the company. The main desire of the workers, even today, is to pursue quality through the creation of authentic and elegant wines that are the faithful expression of the terroir from which they come.
