TASTING NOTES

Contadi Castaldi was founded in 1987, at the height of the Franciacorta boom, by Mariella and Vittorio Moretti. Conceived as a sister company to Bellavista, Contadi Castaldi managed to make a name for itself and be appreciated within a short time, thanks to the charisma and modern style of its sparkling wines, which are very drinkable and adaptable to all occasions. Contadi Castaldi's Franciacorta Rosé is a sparkling wine with great fragrance and pleasantness, made from Chardonnay (65%) and Pinot Noir (35%). After the first fermentation and the creation of the cuvée, the wine stays on yeasts for 24 to 30 months. This Rosé is pink in the glass with coral hues, with a fine and persistent perlage; on the nose, it reveals elegant notes of grapefruit and (red) berry fruit, together with sensations of rose and white pepper. On the palate, it is balanced, well-structured and very drinkable thanks to its fruity acidity. Contadi Castaldi

The long history of Franciacorta and its 19 municipalities has ancient origins, just like the Contadi Castaldi winery. Ever since its foundation and from the earliest stages of processing, the winery's vocation for exceptional agriculture and refined production was clear. The building, which started out as a kiln, was converted into a winery thanks to the brilliant intuition of the founders, who saw the ageing cellar for their Franciacorta wines in the ancient, deep tunnels already present in the building. The rest is history: the Contaldi Castaldi winery project continues to this day, producing Lombardy wines that are rich in character. Care for the terroir and traditions are still a fundamental element in production, which over time has also made use of new technologies to offer high-quality products. The meticulous work makes it a truly unique product, able to tell the most authentic story of the tradition of the Lombardy vineyards.
