From the 1960s onwards, the tavern was definitively transformed into a winery, thanks to the drive of his grandsons, Giovanni and Bruno, who were the first to recognise the potential of their grandfather’s Lambrusco, going on to establish a style and identity that would see the wines of the Ceci winery appreciated worldwide as expressions of Emilian joy and conviviality. Today, the winery is run by Otello’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who, drawing on their heritage, are steering the winery towards new projects and opportunities. Otello is the flagship wine of the Ceci winery, a Lambrusco produced from the Maestri variety, the most typical of the Parma region. Iconic in its genre, this red sparkling wine is the perfect embodiment of Lambrusco in its most pleasant and convivial form. 100 ml - E: 298 kJ/72 kcal
In the glass, it presents a full, intense ruby red colour with violet hues and a soft, persistent foam; on the nose, it bursts with generous notes of blackberry and strawberry jam, followed by floral hints of violet. The palate is full and satisfying, with excellent texture and smoothness, and a good tannic structure.
A synthesis of well-being and conviviality, Otello is a perfect everyday wine, which is at its best paired with first courses and Parma cured meats, such as anolini in broth and coppa with torta fritta.
To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 12–14°C.
