TASTING NOTES

Production

Dolcetto is a red grape variety native to the provinces of Cuneo and Alessandria, little known abroad, with low yields per hectare and a slight freshness. It is grown in the company's two vineyards: one facing south, towards the municipality of Mango, and the other facing south-east, towards the municipality of Dogliani. The soils are calcareous and have the clay that gives the structure to this Roero red. Once collected it ferments in steel at a temperature of 28 degrees and remains there on the peels for 5 days. He performs malolactic work in steel, where he also stops for maturation. E(100 ml)=290/69 kcal

Organoleptic Characteristics

It is a fresh and fruity Piedmontese red with a ruby red color and a slight purple reflection. Small red fruits and ripe plum. The sip is fragrant and vinous. A fresh, pleasant everyday red that is not fooled by the name that recalls a glyceric wine.

Perfect to pair with cold cuts or cured meats and stewed white meat.

Serving Temperature

THE WINERY

Ratti Renato

The Ratti winery is located not far from La Morra, in the province of Cuneo, in the very heart of the Barolo territory, amidst the gentle contours of the area's hills and the finest vineyards. It is located within the Abbey of Annunziata, and still boasts a production that is closely attached to ancient local traditions. The production of wines mainly follows the teachings of the monks who have inhabited the Abbey over the centuries. The few additions of the most advanced techniques have been carefully chosen to allow the final product to bring out the best of the unique properties of the soil and its most precious grapes. The end result? Some Piedmontese wines that are rich in character, strong and decisive, but at the same time elegant and fragrant, capable of narrating not only the best of the territory, but also the oldest history of the area. In addition to Barolo, the winery also boasts a large production of Nebbiolo and fine grappas, all to be discovered. Name and address of producer/distributor: Ratti Renato - Frazione Annunziata, 7, 12064 La Morra (CN). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
