TASTING NOTES

Production

I Clivi’s Malvasia comes from the vineyards of Brazzano di Cormons, which are over 80 years old. Such old vines are few in number but more than make up for it by producing grapes of the highest quality, which we then find in Mario Zanusso’s wines. In keeping with his philosophy, the journey of the Malvasia from vineyard to bottle takes place entirely in stainless steel. The wine is aged on fine lees for 12 months before bottling. Organoleptic Characteristics

In the glass, the white wine displays a beautiful golden colour. The nose is captivated by enticing floral and fresh notes, with chamomile blossom standing out. The palate is pleasantly dry, full-bodied, mineral, and has just the right length.

Occasion and Pairing

It pairs well with fish and shellfish, and seafood dishes in general, whether fried or served with a sauce. It’s also perfect for sharing with friends as an excellent aperitif.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 10–12°C.

Allergens: Solfiti

THE WINERY

I Clivi

The story of the Il Convento farm is the realisation of a dream. After years of hard work spent in the fields owned by the Franciscan friars of Sorrento, farmer Antonio Pollio proudly took over the property. Handing down the respect for nature and the land from generation to generation, the Pollio family has been dedicated to the cultivation of the famous Sorrento lemons since 1935, the skin of which is used to make a unique limoncello. The Pollio family's link with the friars of the convent is one of the peculiarities of this Campania estate: it seems that the first fruits of the harvest were offered as a gift to the Prior, and that the image of San Francesco was placed on the wine barrels as a sign of protection and good luck. Even today, the utmost attention is still paid to the quality and care of the soil, whose characteristics make it possible to preserve the maximum authenticity of the lemons, particularly the prized “ovale di Sorrento I.G.P.” variety. The result is an intense, fragrant and brightly coloured liqueur, excellent as a digestive or to be enjoyed with a dessert, perhaps a typical Neapolitan one. Name and address of producer/distributor: Il Convento - Via Bagnulo, 10, 80061 Massa Lubrense (NA). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
