TASTING NOTES

The Frescobaldi winery is one of the most historical, important and known wineries of both Tuscany and Italy. This winery has an ancient history and is still today one of the largest wine producers of the Tuscan wine scene, with 1200 hectares of vineyards located in prestigious estates with historic homes and ancient castles. Chianti Rufina Nipozzano is the wine of the Castle, historic Tenuta Frescobaldi, symbol of the Tuscan wine tradition and the bond with the terroir. This Chianti is made from Sangiovese grapes, which as soon as they are harvested, are delivered to the winery. Here, once destemmed, spontaneous fermentation follows by indigenous yeasts in thermoregulated stainless steel tanks. At the end of this, the wine macerates in vats and performs malolactic fermentation always in steel, then refine in barrique in the following months. Further aging in bottle allows Nipozzano to express itself to the maximum, making it a wine with an exceptional expressive balance. The glass has an intense and limpid ruby red color. On the nose it expresses fruity aromas, followed by floral notes of violet. Fresh and balsamic, it has pleasant spicy hints of pepper, nutmeg and roasted Arabica coffee. The palate is satisfying, harmonious, fresh, fruity and mineral, with a dense and silky tannic texture. The finish is pleasantly persistent and balanced in its different components. A Chianti suitable for any occasion and perfect to accompany meat dishes, tasty and structured, meat sauce and succulent stews. To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 16/18 ºC. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Frescobaldi

With a history dating back to the Middle Ages, when Florence was the most important commercial and cultural crossroads in the modern world, the Frescobaldi family has been established as one of the leading wineries in Tuscany for centuries. The Frescobaldi vineyards cover a total of 1,200 hectares, spread over several estates, each with its own characteristic microclimate and terroir. The distinctive strength of this winery lies in the ability of its managers to enhance the diversity and uniqueness of the Tuscan territory. Agronomists and oenologists work together to cultivate the vines in an environmentally friendly and sustainable manner. Involved in this enterprise for 700 years, the Frescobaldi family has skilfully kept up with innovations, interpreting the most prized red wine labels with absolute mastery, including the Chianti, the Brunello di Montalcino and the Rosso di Montalcino. But all wines from the Frescobaldi winery contain a kaleidoscopic bouquet of aromas and flavours that give them an exceptional personality, perceptible at a glance. Name and address of producer/distributor: Frescobaldi - Via Aretina 120, 50065 Sieci Firenze (FI). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
