TASTING NOTES

Production

Champagne Premier Cru Nature Amélie is a Blanc de Blancs made exclusively from 100% Chardonnay grapes, sourced from the Clos, Fosses and Alouettes plots (Villers Marmery), with an average vine age of 50 years. Champagne Amélie undergoes vinification on fine lees for 9 months and ageing on the lees for a further 7 years.

Organoleptic Characteristics

In the glass, it presents a pale yellow colour with greenish-white highlights. The nose is dominated by hints of rose, acacia and cloves. As the Champagne breathes, notes of liquorice, brioche and marzipan emerge, with hints of aniseed and iodine on the finish. The palate is underpinned by citrus notes such as lemon and grapefruit, along with mineral hints, against a backdrop of chalky freshness and mint.

Occasion and Pairing

Perfect as an aperitif or paired with delicate fish dishes.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 8–10°C.

THE WINERY

Henriet Bazin

The Henriet-Bazin family has been working the land for five generations, taking care of the vineyards and making wines with the desire to offer cuvées that express the unique, complex and delicious terroir of the estate’s vineyards. The company is a small Maison that produces about 70 thousand bottles a year and only process grapes owned by the vineyards in the Montagne de Reims in Ville Marmery, one of the three villages dedicated to the production of Chardonnay. The history of the estate began in 1890 when Gaston Henriet decided to keep part of the harvest to try the adventure of winemaking. The company works with respect for nature, the land and the vineyards: planting plants to replace fertilizers, abandonment of herbicides, work in harmony with the lunar cycles, respect for insects. Name and address manufacturer/distributor: Henriet-Bazin - 9, Rue des Mises - 51380 Villers-Marmery- France. The products of this cellar should be stored in a cool and dry place away from heat sources.
