TASTING NOTES

Burgundy meets Champagne. Maison Valentine Leflaive arose from the coming together of two great wine and terroir enthusiasts: Olivier Leflaive and Érick de Sousa, who today manage vineyards of nearly 45 years of age. Champagne Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Mesnil Cv|17|50 is made with 100% Chardonnay grapes from vineyards with an average age of 20 years, located in the Côte des Blancs. The chalky soil enhances the aromatic profile of this Champagne, making it mineral and savoury. The grapes are harvested by hand, selecting the best grapes on the rows, and then lightly pressed to separate and collect the musts, which are then vinified in stainless steel tanks. The ageing process then takes place for three and a half years. This Chardonnay Cuvée has around 12% Reserve wines. In the glass the colour has subtle emerald shades. The nose is precise as the bouquet mixes acidic notes such as lime and mandarin with empyreumatic notes of flint. The palate harmoniously conveys the balanced minerality typical of the terroir, making it the perfect pairing with delicate fish dishes. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Valentin Leflaive

The noble Valentini family is of Spanish origin and resides in Loreto Aprutino, in the province of Pescara. Since 1600 it has owned the vast estate of the same name where wine, oil and wheat were produced. Today the Valentini winery is managed by Francesco Paolo, a man in love with his work and his wines, with the pleasure of cultivating his own vineyards. In the cellar everything takes place in a sustainable and natural way, without the use of chemical interventions and selected yeasts. The vines cultivated are the Trebbiano and the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. Name and address manufacturer/distributor: Azienda Agricola Valentini - Via del Baio, 2 - 65014 Loreto Aprutino (PE). The products of this cellar should be stored in a cool and dry place away from heat sources.
