THE WINERYVeuve Clicquot
In 1805, the young Madame Clicquot suddenly became widowed. At only 27 years old, she took over the reins of the house founded in 1772 by her late husband. Guided by her great passion and ability for excellence, she created her first Champagne vintage in 1810. In addition to reflecting exceptional savoir-faire, the production process of Veuve Clicquot Champagne has always been very creative, based mainly on the blending of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier grapes. One quality, the best. This is the spirit of Maison Veuve Clicquot. Today, the house owns some 390 hectares of vineyards, spread over Grand Cru and Premier Cru in Champagne and characterised by chalky soil, responsible for the mineral notes of the Champagne Clicquot cuvées. Since 2002, the house has adopted organic and sustainable viticulture, applied from vine cultivation to vinification and maturation activities.
