TASTING NOTES

Production

Maison Henriot is one of the few Champagne houses that has remained family-run over the years, situated in the centre of the village of Pierry. Champagne Brut Millésimé is imbued with freshness and lightness.

Organoleptic Characteristics

The balance between Pinot Noir and Chardonnay evokes subtle sensations: springtime freshness, minerality and aromatic breadth with fruity notes. The colour is pale gold with brilliant highlights. The bubbles are extremely fine, reflecting a long ageing in the cellar. On the nose, the bouquet is dominated by citrus and yellow fruit, vineyard peach and nectarine, with a subtle floral dimension. Subtle notes of honey and candied lemon add a touch of indulgence and lend a silky character. Freshness and lightness dominate on the palate. Grapefruit, apricot, citron and fresh citrus come to life, lingering on notes of fruit jellies yet with a profound minerality ever-present. The finish is long, refined, silky and refreshing.

Occasion and Pairing

A resolutely low dosage gives it a very harmonious balance, perfect for pairing with delicate dishes.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this Champagne should be served at a temperature of 8–10°C.

THE WINERY

Henriot

The Hofstatter Winery is a historical symbol of Alto Adige, guarded by the imposing walls of a 16th century building in the province of Bolzano. The Hofstatter vineyards stretch across the eastern and western sides of the Etschtal, finding a home on soils with different characteristics and microclimates. It was precisely because of this peculiarity that in 1987, for the first time in this region, they were able to introduce the designation “Vigna” for seven of their wines. Heir to an ancient family of winegrowers, Martin Foradori continues to pursue Hofstatter's core objective to this day: to harmonise the centuries-old, unique tradition of their land with an eye for innovation. In fact, the immense heritage of the Hofstatter estate has not precluded the use of modern technology to create a state-of-the-art winery, where new, low-energy concrete barrels are housed. The exceptional finesse of Hofstatter wines confirms that this goal is achieved year after year, yielding sublime examples of both whites, such as the renowned Gewürztraminer, and reds, such as Pinot Noir, that are recognised even beyond Italian borders. Name and address of producer/distributor: Hofstatter - Rathausplatz 7 - 39040 Tramin BZ. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
