Maison Louis Roederer is one of the few wineries still run by the family. Founded in Reims in 1776, the company owns 240 hectares of property located between the Grands and Premiers Crus located in the area of the Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de la Marne, the Côte de Blancs. Champagne Brut Cristal is the wine of Tsar Alexander II, the most famous of the Maison’s wines born in 1876. The idea of creating this cuvée was born because the emperor asked Louis Roederer to reserve every year the best cuvée of the Maison, which he particularly appreciates. To accentuate the singularity of this exceptional Champagne, a flat-bottomed crystal bottle was specially created, which will bear the name of this precious material, which enhances its transparency and brightness. Made only in the best vintages when its composition is perfect, Champagne Cristal consists of a 60% Pinot Noir and a 40% Chardonnay. Of remarkable balance, it ages in the cellar for 6 years and rests 8 months after disgorgement. A wine that ages wonderfully, it is presented to the glass with a golden color with bright reflections and a fine and regular perlage. Complex aromatic bouquet with notes of yellow fruits, juicy and ripe, citrus peel and slightly toasted dried fruit. The nose reveals olfactory notes of honey, with savory nuances; the fine and marked tannins reveal a vinous sensation, broad and with a saline and long finish. Champagne Cristal Brut is a great meditation wine, to be uncorked on important occasions. To fully appreciate its style, this Champagne should be served at a serving temperature of 8/10 ºC.
