TASTING NOTES

Production

Dom Ruinart Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne is made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes sourced from the finest Grand Cru vineyards of the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims. It is produced only in the most favourable vintages, through careful and precise vinification, partly in stainless steel. The second fermentation follows the Méthode Champenoise, with a very long ageing on the lees which gives the wine extraordinary complexity, finesse and elegance. 100 ml: 301 kJ/72 kcal

Organoleptic Characteristics

Bright golden yellow in colour, with a very fine and persistent perlage. The nose is broad and refined, with notes of ripe citrus, white-fleshed fruit, white flowers and subtle hints of almond and brioche. On the palate, it is creamy and elegant, with great freshness, minerality and a long, harmonious finish.

Occasion and Pairing

A highly prestigious Champagne, ideal for special occasions. It pairs well with shellfish, refined fish, white meats and haute cuisine dishes.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 8–10°C.

THE WINERY

Ruinart

One family, one spirit. Maison Ruinart was founded in 1729, when Nicolas Ruinart, exploiting the intuition of his uncle, a Benedictine monk in Reims, founded the Maison which still bears his name today. Today Ruinart is part of the LVMH group and is one of the most renowned Champagne producers in the world. There are specific techniques that characterize the history of the Maison Ruinart and reveal the essential character of an exceptional experience. In the Maison Ruinart, Champagne is a product of the earth, which respects the harmony of nature and treats the fruits it offers delicately. The aromatic Chardonnay grape variety is the basis of all cuvées and its grapes derive mainly from the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims. Blanc de Blancs is the most representative wine for the Maison, which first appeared in 1959. All Ruinart Champagnes ripen in crayères, i.e. chalk quarries located 38 meters deep at constant temperature and humidity, today considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dom Ruinart represents the oldest Champagne produced in history, aimed at acting as the progenitor of a legendary tradition.
