Located between Naples and the Astroni crater, a natural volcanic reserve, the winery was founded by the Varchetta family with the aim of enhancing the unique potential of the Campi Flegrei area, where vines grow on sandy, mineral-rich volcanic soils. For generations, the family has pursued a vision of mindful viticulture based on environmental respect and the promotion of native grape varieties — first and foremost Falanghina dei Campi Flegrei, along with Piedirosso, Aglianico, and other traditional Campanian cultivars. The vineyards lie on sunlit, breezy slopes overlooking the Gulf of Naples, where the Mediterranean climate and volcanic terrain give the wines freshness, salinity, and a distinctive personality. Cantine Astroni’s philosophy combines oenological expertise with respect for nature: sustainable vineyard practices, spontaneous fermentations, and careful use of technology in the cellar to preserve the integrity of the fruit.
