TASTING NOTES

Production

Altesino’s Brunello di Montalcino Montosoli is a Tuscan red wine, produced from 100% Sangiovese grapes from a selected 5-hectare vineyard situated at an altitude of around 400 metres. The grapes undergo traditional fermentation, followed by ageing for over 4 years in wood, including a minimum of 2 years in oak. This is followed by a further 4 months of bottle ageing.

Organoleptic Characteristics

Ruby red in colour with subtle garnet hues, the nose offers intensity and a breadth of aromas, ranging from hints of violet and undergrowth to spicier and balsamic notes. On the palate, it is dry, warm and intense, with great structure and rough yet extremely refined tannins.

Occasion and Pairing

A wine which, given its stature, may prove the perfect choice for a special occasion, best enjoyed with flavourful red meats.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.

Allergens: Solfiti

THE WINERY

Altesino

In the heart of southern Tuscany, among the gentle contours of the hills and fragrant vines, there remains an intact and largely wild landscape: Montalcino. Even today, the name alone is a true synonym for quality Tuscan wines, rich in tradition and character. In this area, in fact, tradition imposes a deeply respectful relationship between man and nature: this has contributed to keeping the charm and uncontaminated magic of the entire area intact over time. It is no great surprise therefore, that the entire area has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, precisely because of its precious biodiversity, and takes its visitors' breath away. There is a special relationship that links Montalcino and its wines: a relationship built on tradition and innovation, age-old culture and science, that has shaped the landscape in the way we admire it today and, above all, has characterised the socio-economic aspect. In this unique setting stands Altesino. Name and address of producer/distributor: Altesino - Strada Provinciale del Brunello, 53024 Montalcino (SI). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
