TASTING NOTES

Production

The wine is distilled in two stages using the Charentais still, following the Cognac method, resulting in a liquid with 72° alcohol. It is then aged for 10 years in small French oak barrels, where, in addition to absorbing the precious aromas of the wood and refining through the action of oxygen, the brandy gradually drops to 44° alcohol, which is the ideal strength to express all the flavors and nuances in the glass. The Brandy Assemblaggio Tradizionale 10 years is a blend of multiple vintages, with the number on the label representing the youngest batch.

Organoleptic Characteristics

It has a bright amber color. The nose is very complex, with aromas of dates and coffee, sweet spices like cinnamon and licorice, leather, and tea leaves. On the palate, it is smooth and intense, with a beautifully long finish.

Occasion and Pairing

A Bolognese brandy to be enjoyed sip by sip after dinner.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this brandy should be served at a temperature of 16-20°C.

THE WINERY

Villa Zarri

In Castel Maggiore, in the province of Bologna, stands Villa Zarri. Built as far back as 1578, it was later renovated in the 1700s, when, under the leadership of Leonida Zarri, it became the base for the production of high-quality spirits, with a focus on Brandy. In 1990, the Zarri distillery was founded, when the first bottle of Brandy was made using Trebbiano Romagnolo and Tuscano as a base. Zarri Brandies are today recognised for their quality, achieved through rigorous scientific research. Placed in French oak barrels from the Massif Central area, the brandies are left to age so that a series of chemical and physical changes take place to enhance their flavours, aromas and colours. Villa Zarri's liqueurs take their inspiration from French Cognac production methods, using the excellent and renowned Trebbiano from Romagna as raw material. Distillation takes place during the autumn months, after which the product is aged in barrels of various sizes for at least 10 years. In addition to the production of high-quality Brandy, Villa Zarri is expanding its product range, offering Organic Nocino, Chardonnay Wine Brandy, Cherry Brandy and Amaro Zarri. Name and address of producer/distributor: Villa Zarri - Via Ronco, 1, 40013 Castel Maggiore (BO). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
