TASTING NOTES

Bolgheri Rosso Superiore Ornellaia is a dry red wine produced by Ornellaia, belonging to the Bolgheri DOC. The grapes reach full maturity thanks to the maritime climate. Each parcel from which the grapes that will then be given in this wine come is vinified and aged in barrique separately, so that they can express the multitude of variables present in the cru from which they come. Subsequently, the blend of Ornellaia was created, a blend of four international grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, an expression of a balance between the particularities of the vintage and the elegance typical of this wine. With its usual intense ruby red color, Ornellaia is characterized to the nose by aromas of ripe red fruits and delicate notes of vanilla and sweet tobacco. The taste is soft and velvety, with a pleasant and enveloping entrance in the mouth, which invites the second sip. The tannic texture is dense and at the same time elegant and the finish is savory and of beautiful persistence. The finish is persistent with mineral references and fruity pleasure. Wine for great occasions, it goes well with red meat dishes and main products, such as black truffle. To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 16/18 ºC.

Tenuta dell'Ornellaia

Tenuta dell'Ornellaia is located a short distance from the village of Bolgheri, Tuscany. Of all the wonderful farms in the region, this is perhaps the only one to stand on land praised by one of the greatest Italian poets of the 20th century: In fact, Giosuè Carducci had written a poem about the monumental cypress avenue that leads right to the Bolgheri area and the gentle contours of the hills dotted with vineyards. The area's enduring charm and privileged terroir location has motivated the work of the winery, which is driven to do more and more to produce Tuscan wines that live up to their provenance. A work marked by passion and love for the land and its unique characteristics, which was accompanied by a meticulous study of the latest technologies and techniques. Selective harvesting done by hand, microvinification and storage ageing lead to a flawless end result, perfect in every detail and rich in character.
