The Bolgheri Rosso Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia originates in the vineyards of the Tenuta dell'Ornellaia, located along the Tuscan coast of Bolgheri, in an area characterized by alluvial and marine soils, ideal for growing international grape varieties. The blend is made up of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, collected manually and vinified separately by parcel and variety. Fermentation takes place in steel and concrete tanks, with macerations careful to preserve balance and elegance. The aging process takes place for about a year in French oak barriques, some new and some second-passage, followed by further aging in the bottle that completes the harmony of the wine.
On the nose it is intense and refined, with aromas of ripe red and black fruits, cherry, blackberry and currant, accompanied by notes of sweet spices, vanilla, cocoa and light balsamic nuances. On the palate it is full and enveloping, with silky and well-integrated tannins, a good freshness and a balanced structure that leads to a long, elegant and persistent finish.
Wine of great class and versatility, ideal to accompany important lunches and dinners but also perfect for convivial moments of high level. It pairs beautifully with red meats, roasts, braised meats, light game, Tuscan dishes and aged cheeses.
To best enhance its elegance and complexity, a service temperature of 16/18°C is recommended.
