TASTING NOTES

Production

The carefully selected Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah grapes are harvested and processed separately in stainless steel tanks, with the Merlot and Syrah fermented at lower temperatures to preserve their varietal aromas. Malolactic fermentation takes place in barriques and stainless steel. This is followed by blending, after which the wine spends a further year in barriques before bottling. 100 ml: E=354 kJ/85 kcal

Organoleptic Characteristics

In the glass, the red wine presents an intense ruby red colour, leading to a nose of black berry fruits, framed by notes of tobacco on a bed of sweet spices. The palate is full-bodied, structured and harmonious, where the fruity notes are supported by the acidity necessary to give the wine a pleasant succulence.

Occasion and Pairing

A wine that can be enjoyed every day, best paired with medium-bodied red meat dishes.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.

Allergens: Solfiti

THE WINERY

Guado al Tasso

Belonging to the historic and renowned Marchesi Antinori wine family, the Guado al Tasso winery enjoys an excellent international reputation despite only being established in 1994. Situated in the Upper Maremma Tuscany, in the area of Bolgheri, it covers about 320 hectares, set in the beautiful setting of the so-called “Bolgherese amphitheatre”, a plain surrounded by wooded hills stretching down to the sea. It is the particularity of this setting that provides a unique microclimate to the vineyards cultivated here. The usual temperature fluctuations to which they are exposed guarantee that the grapes have a strong aromatic flavour and perfect maturation. In fact, compared to the other Antinori estates, such as the majestic Castello della Sala, at the Guado al Tasso winery the harvest is usually carried out at the end of August, rather than in September. Soils of heterogeneous composition, composed of clay, sand, silt or pebbles, are home to both French red grapes from which prestigious red wines, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, are produced, and to vines from which remarkable white wines and roses are produced. Name and address of producer/distributor: Guado al Tasso - Loc. Scalabrone 57022 Bolgheri LI. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
