A Bolgheri with a marine, Mediterranean and mineral character. Podere Grattamacco's Bolgheri Rosso is made up mostly of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot, as well as 10% Sangiovese, a grape variety rarely found in the Bolgherese area but capable of providing freshness and further enhancing the aromatic energy of red wine, which undergoes alcoholic fermentation in small conical wooden vats opened with indigenous yeasts. 100 ml: E=316 kJ/76 kcal
Full ruby red color, with purple reflections. On the nose, elegant fruity notes, seductive spice, balsamic hints and a fine vegetal touch, but what is most intriguing are the returns of Mediterranean scrub and seaweed flowing from the calyx. Upon tasting, a confirmation: good saltiness, in line with expectations, and spicy hints of pepper that accompany sweet tannins towards a flavorful finish.
A high-quality entry-level wine, which can be tasted every day in combination with red meat dishes, even those with good structure.
To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 16/18°C.
