TASTING NOTES

Barolo Monfortino comes from a selection of the best Nebbiolo grapes located in the France vineyard, the same from which are derived Barolo and Barbera Cascina Francia, two other historic wines of Conterno. After a careful selection of the best grapes, the first fermentation takes place in large oak vats and continue long maceration with submerged hat, as per tradition. It is then moved to large Austrian wooden barrels where it undergoes malolactic fermentation and ages for 6 years before being bottled. Barolo Riserva Monfortino is presented in the glass with a bright and iridescent garnet red color. The nose is a poignant portrait of the Langhe, dominated by scents of rose hips, violets and cherries. The taste is struck by a particular experience, which goes with a finish and a very long persistence. To be tasted at least once in your life, before the fire or accompanied by blue or aged cheeses. To fully appreciate the style, Barolo riserva must be served at a service temperature of 16/18 ºC. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Conterno

In the municipality of Monforte d'Alba, in the Piedmont countryside, lies the Conterno Winery. Here, the family of the same name that founded the winery is committed to producing and bottling its Barolo in search of the best balance and perfect quality. The winery's constant work has allowed it to evolve into the great establishment it is today, where the oldest traditions are still carefully followed, alongside the most modern and avant-garde techniques, to offer high-quality Piedmontese wines and unmistakably stylish red wines from Piedmont. Since it was founded, the fame of Conterno wines has spread throughout the area, giving the winery a meteoric rise. The success, however, has not affected the stable foundations of the family, which still works together in its production chain today. Their strengths remain the same: care for tradition, a search for expression of the terroir and a deep respect for what Piedmontese nature has to offer. Name and address of producer/distributor: Conterno - Via Ginestra, 1, 12065 Monforte d'Alba (CN). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
