This Barolo Riserva is made from pure Nebbiolo grapes from the Fossati – Case Nere cru, in the municipality of La Morra. The wording “10 Years” indicates an overall aging of approximately ten years before marketing, with a long maturation between wood (barriques and French oak barrels) and aging in the bottle. Roberto Voerzio's production style is marked by extremely low yields, rigorous selection of bunches and maximum expression of the vineyard, giving rise to a Barolo of great depth and longevity.
Intense and compact garnet red, with orange reflections that testify to the evolution and maturity of the wine. Complex and layered bouquet: notes of withered rose, cherry in spirit and ripe plum, followed by tertiary hints of tobacco, leather, bitter cocoa, licorice, dark spices and undergrowth, with balsamic and mineral hints. On the palate it is deep, powerful and harmonious. The tannins are dense but perfectly smoothed by the refinement, supported by a freshness that is still alive. Very long, elegant finish, with spicy, mineral and slightly toasted returns.
It pairs with dishes of great structure and complexity such as braised meats and stews of red meats, important game (deer, wild boar, hare) and dishes with white truffle.
To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 18/20°C.
