Roberto Voerzio’s Barolo Brunate is made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes from the prestigious Brunate cru, situated between the municipalities of La Morra and Barolo. Production is extremely rigorous: very low yields, hand-harvesting and a winemaking process focused on maximising concentration and fruit expression. Ageing takes place in barriques and French oak barrels, over long, carefully calibrated periods, to produce a wine of great structure yet elegant at the same time.
A deep, luminous garnet red, with ruby highlights in the younger vintages. A broad, intense bouquet: ripe red fruits (cherry, raspberry), rose and violet, followed by notes of sweet spices, cocoa, tobacco, liquorice and light balsamic nuances. On the palate, it is powerful, enveloping and precise. The tannic structure is dense and silky, supported by great concentration and remarkable balance. The finish is very long, with spicy and mineral notes.
Ideal with structured, intensely flavoured dishes: braised or roasted red meats, game, and dishes featuring white Alba truffles.
To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.
