TASTING NOTES

Production

Barolo by Giovanni Rosso is made from Nebbiolo grapes from the Barolo DOCG area, which are hand-harvested in October. After gentle pressing, the must ferments on the skins in cement tanks for about 25 days, with daily pump-overs and a délestage halfway through. It is then aged for 18 to 36 months, depending on the vintage, in 50hl French oak barrels.

Organoleptic Characteristics

This Barolo reveals itself in the glass with a bright ruby red color, with predominant floral notes, cherry in spirit, and star anise on the nose. On the palate, the tannins are structured and elegant, with a long finish.

Occasion and Pairing

Perfectly paired with fresh pasta dishes, grilled fish, or lamb skewers.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16-18°C.

THE WINERY

Giovanni Rosso

The Giovanni Rosso identity is easily recognizable in the vineyards that the family has chosen since 1906 in the Serralunga d'Alba area. Identity and elegance, today the company is led by the fourth generation with their son Davide, an enologist with a strong experience in Burgundy, driven by the deep conviction that wine must be the perfect copy of the terroir. The winery has 10 hectares divided between the best Cru of Serralunga d'Alba and 6 hectares recently acquired on the slopes of Etna in Sicily. The winemaking and work in the vineyard follow a rigorous and traditional style, exploiting only indigenous yeasts and without the use of herbicides in the vineyard. Giovanni Rosso’s wines are among the most faithful expressions of the territory of Serralunga, with an excellent balance and drinkability. Name and address manufacturer/distributor: Azienda Giovanni Rosso - Via Roddino, 10/1 - 12050 Serralunga d'Alba (CN) - Italia. The products of this cellar should be stored in a cool and dry place away from heat sources.
