TASTING NOTES

Production

The grapes, carefully selected at harvest, undergo a long maceration, slow fermentation and 12 months’ ageing in barriques, followed by further ageing in the bottle.

Organoleptic Characteristics

Ruby red in colour with purple hues, it has complex and intensely deep aromas of red fruit, cherry, black cherry and flowers, with hints of balsamic notes. On the palate, it is balanced, with soft tannins and a lively freshness that supports the palate and lengthens the finish.

Occasion and Pairing

This Barbera is perfect for accompanying first courses with meat ragù or main courses featuring red meat. Also worth trying with mature cheeses.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.

Allergens: Solfiti

THE WINERY

Garesio

The Maison was founded by Gaston Chiquet in 1935, after he left the family business and his brother Fernand. Since 1950, together with his son Claude, Gaston extended his family’s dominance over the terroirs of Ay and Hautvillers, thus expanding the vineyards he owned today to 23 hectares, where the average age of the plants is 27 years. In these vineyards are cultivated the three great Champenoise vines: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier, according to the particularities of each terroir. The cultivation methods are adapted to the viticultural needs for a better respect of the environment: when Maison part of the «Récoltant Manipulant», it processes a Champagne only with one of its own vineyards. Name and address manufacturer/distributor: Champagne Gaston Chiquet - 906, avenue du Général Leclerc CS 21019 - 51530 Dizy - France. The products of this cellar should be stored in a cool and dry place away from heat sources.
