The Pico Maccario winery is situated in Piedmont, amongst the hills of Monferrato: a dynamic estate that interprets native grape varieties with a modern and elegant style. Barbera d’Asti Anima Mia is made from 100% Barbera grapes, grown in the winery’s own vineyards and vinified with great care to best express freshness and terroir. A Piedmontese red wine produced from a selection of grapes in the vineyard, fermented in stainless steel and briefly aged to preserve the fruit.
Bright ruby red in the glass, the nose reveals intense and fragrant aromas with notes of cherry, plum, red berries and subtle spicy undertones. It impresses with its liveliness and immediate aromatic character. Pico Maccario’s Barbera d’Asti Anima Mia is fresh and easy-drinking on the palate, with the distinctive acidity typical of the grape variety, soft tannins and a balanced, dynamic mouthfeel. The finish is clean and persistent, with pleasant fruity notes.
Versatile and convivial, it is perfect for everyday meals and informal occasions. It pairs excellently with savoury pasta dishes, cured meats, light red meats and traditional Piedmontese cuisine. Also excellent with pizza.
To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.
