TASTING NOTES

Production

This red grape variety is native to the Langhe and has always been synonymous with a lively, fresh taste. Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes are crushed and destemmed; maceration takes place over a week at a temperature of around 29 degrees, followed by ageing in 77-hectolitre barrels. Bottle ageing lasts a minimum of 10 months.

Organoleptic Characteristics

In the glass, Prunotto’s Barbera has a ruby red colour with violet hues, whilst on the nose, spice, currants and small red fruits soften the velvety, highly enjoyable palate.

Occasion and Pairing

A full-bodied yet fragrant wine, ideal for the table, perfect with a platter of freshly sliced cold cuts.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 18–20°C.

Allergens: Solfiti

THE WINERY

Prunotto

In the heart of the Langhe, between the Barbaresco and Barolo areas, lies the small town of Alba. Here, on the right bank of the Tanaro River, stands the Prunotto farm and its crops. The winery is lovingly run by the same family, which passes down the area's winemaking secrets in pursuit of production that is both innovative and traditional. Since it was founded, the company's main goal has always been to enhance the unique characteristics of this area of Piedmont. The soils and vineyards have been treated with care and cultivated with the utmost respect for the timing of each grape, to arrive at the creation of an elegant Piedmontese wine full of character, able to tell the best of the territory in every glass. The Prunotto company carefully manages a modern, state-of-the-art production, starting from the cultivation of its fifty hectares up to the bottling process, to offer a final product with attention to every detail. Name and address of producer/distributor: Prunotto - 89, Borgo Bussia, Monforte D’Alba, CN 12065. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
