Amarone della Valpolicella Pietro Dal Cero is the result of the winery’s latest investments aimed at creating a great Veronese red; the grapes come from the vineyards of eastern Valpolicella and are dried for four months before being vinified in stainless steel. The wine is aged in barriques for 24 months before returning to steel vats; after a further 12 months, it is bottled, where it remains for another two years before leaving the cellar. 100 ml: 390 kJ/94 kcal
Pietro dal Cero’s Amarone della Valpolicella is a modern and contemporary interpretation of the wine: it has a ruby colour of great intensity and depth, with its structure hinted at by the slow, sinuous movements of the liquid. Its concentration is already apparent on the nose, with dark aromas of blackberry, black cherry, dark chocolate and sweet tobacco. On the palate, it is smooth and seductive, yet well-supported by a backbone of acidity that keeps the wine lively.
Flavourful and captivating, it will be the perfect companion for Amarone-braised meat or long-aged cheeses.
To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.
