TASTING NOTES

Production

Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is a dry red wine made from a blend of Corvina, Rondinella, Oseleta and Croatina grapes from the estate in Sant’Ambrogio di Valpolicella. After harvesting, the grapes are left to dry for four months until January, when they are pressed and fermented. The wine is then aged for 36 months in large Slavonian oak barrels and rests for a period in the bottle before leaving the cellar.

Organoleptic Characteristics

Intense ruby red with garnet highlights. The nose is powerful and assertive, with strong aromas of ripe fruit and jam, cinnamon and vanilla, combined with hints of tobacco, undergrowth and cocoa. On the palate, it is warm and enveloping, muscular yet supple, with good structure and a long finish.

Occasion and Pairing

A Venetian red to enjoy on a Sunday with family or friends, pairing well with red meat dishes such as roasts, steaks and game.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.

Allergens: Solfiti

THE WINERY

Zenato

After the end of the First World War, Cesare Zucchetto, a pharmacist from Valdobbiadene, Veneto, decided he wanted to help rebuild the exhausted region. Combining his passion for wine and viticulture with his knowledge of chemistry, he started his cultivation from a vineyard in the surrounding hills, in Cartizze Alto. The first product was a Prosecco of unbelievable quality, initially appreciated by families in the Veneto region and soon also outside the region. The actual expansion came with his son Paolo, who started cultivating new vineyards in the Valdobbiadene area and producing excellent sparkling wines using the Metodo Martinotti. Gradually, the winery's products began to be recognised and known internationally, also thanks to the spread of knowledge and general appreciation of Prosecco. Today, the vineyards are in the hands of Paolo, while his son Carlo Alberto is in charge of the winemaking, and he applies all his obsession for perfection in the production of wines of the best possible quality. Name and address of producer/distributor: Zucchetto Paolo - Via Cima, 16 – 31049, San Pietro di Barbozza di Valdobbiadene (TV). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
