TASTING NOTES

Production

The harvest for this 100% Pinot Noir takes place towards the end of August; fermentation occurs partly in steel and partly in wood, where malolactic fermentation also takes place. It is then aged in French oak barriques for 13 months.

Organoleptic Characteristics

In the glass, it displays intense, brilliant and concentrated ruby red hues. It has an intense bouquet of cherries and redcurrants with a spicy finish of pepper and toasted notes. The tannins are noticeable but very elegant, exuding freshness and persistence.

Occasion and Pairing

A wine with great potential. Refined, it pairs well with dishes that are not overly structured, white meats or red meats prepared using recipes that are not too complex.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 14–16°C.

Allergens: Solfiti

THE WINERY

Elena Walch

The winery Elio Grasso is located in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba, has 42 hectares of which 24 of woods and meadows surrounding the 18 planted vineyards, now a UNESCO Heritage. A winery where you love to be recognized first as farmers and then as producers: it is the way to honor and continue the work of those who have faced the difficulties typical of those working with nature and wine. For this family wants to highlight, without presumption, those convictions and ways of being of all the peasant families of Langa, those characteristic traits that make the difference. The vineyards are owned by the family, they have always been part of the estate, in an area that has always been considered a high vocation, As evidenced by the inclusion of vineyards in the map of the best vineyards created by the great historian Lorenzo Fantini at the beginning of the last century. Aware of the primary need to respect and enhance the particular characteristics of vineyards, these terroirs were considered as a kind of magical place where to find historical roots. Name and address of producer/distributor: Azienda Agricola ELIO GRASSO - Località Ginestra, 40 - 12065 Monforte d'Alba (CN). The products of this cellar should be stored in a cool and dry place away from heat sources.
