The Alto Adige Vorberg Riserva comes from a harvest of 100% Pinot Bianco grapes, which are manually selected before undergoing a gentle whole-cluster pressing and natural sedimentation. This is followed by a slow fermentation at controlled temperatures in large oak barrels, along with malolactic fermentation, and aging for 12 months on the fine lees in traditional wooden barrels.
In the glass, Vorberg presents a bright straw-yellow color with greenish reflections. The nose reveals a varied and rich bouquet with mature fruity notes of melon, white peach, and delightfully sweet pear or apple, complemented by aromas of quince jelly, chamomile, and pineapple, alongside mineral hints of flint. The combination of fruity, aromatic, and salty components also reflects on the palate. Its compact structure, with elegant creaminess, culminates in a very aromatic, persistent, and distinctly mineral finish.
It pairs wonderfully with spicy fish soup, mussels in a peppery sauce, or spaghetti with mixed seafood. It also complements baked mussels, grilled cuttlefish, or char, and works well with Roman-style artichokes and aged pecorino, or aged Parmesan with mustard.
To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 12-14°C.
