TASTING NOTES

Production

Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks with careful daily pumping over to enhance the extraction of aromas and tannins from the pomace. Ageing and malolactic fermentation occur in large French oak barrels for at least six months. Energy value per 100 ml: E=320 kJ/77 kcal

Organoleptic Characteristics

Lagrein Rubeno DOC, with its garnet-red colour, reveals aromas of wild berries such as blackberries and blackcurrants, and violets in the glass.

Occasion and Pairing

Its structured and persistent flavour makes it ideal for pairing with cured meats and cold cuts, or with meat-based first courses or mushroom risotto.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 14–16°C.

The small cooperative in Andriano, a centre on the west side of the Etschtal, is located directly opposite the village of Terlano. Cooperation with the Terlano winery has resulted in a series of wines with a unique character, characterised by a very different soil and climate. Calcareous soils and cooler average temperatures give wines of good concentration but great supporting acidity.
