TASTING NOTES

The Puni distillery is located in the mountains of the upper Val Venosta, near the ancient village of Glorenza. It is the realization of a dream, to create a great all-Italian Whisky, starting from raw materials of excellent quality. It is a delicate and refined distillate, capable of expressing the traditional face of the great Scottish whiskies of the Highlands. The raw material behind Single Malt is a particularly careful selection of Italian barley malt. The distillation phase takes place using traditional Forthys Scottish stills, which guarantee an extraordinary finesse. To lower the grade of the distillate, pure and light water from alpine sources is used. The whisky ages for a period of 5 years in American oak barrels, previously used to age the Bourbon, which give vanilla aromas, light toasted sensations due to the internal smoking of the wood. The whisky is bottled without cold filtration, in order to maintain the perfect integrity of the distillate. A slightly cloudy appearance is quite natural and disappears simply by shaking the bottle. This Gold whisky is an Italian Malt with delicate clear and essential scents of lime peel, white flowers, vanilla and oriental spices. The glass has a pale yellow color with bright and brilliant reflections, with hints of ripe white pulp fruit, peach, sensations of caramel, cotton candy and tropical fruit. An excellent meditation whisky. To fully appreciate its style, this whisky should be served at a serving temperature of 16/18 ºC. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Puni

The origins of the Querciabella winery have ancient roots, but its foundation only dates back to the 1970s. Originally, it wasn't even meant to be a winery in the true sense of the word: its founder had been impressed by the area that local winegrowers called “Vigna della Querciabella” because of the imposing oak tree that stood on the land. The founder's initial idea was to create wine for himself and a few friends, based on his passion for wine growing. Precisely this fact has made Cantina Querciabella one of the most interesting wineries in Tuscany’s wine panorama. The family's study and commitment have been combined with the most innovative techniques, combined with the knowledge of local farmers, leading to the creation of Tuscan wines of the highest quality, capable of conveying the best of the territory in every glass. Organic and sustainable cultivation is another of the company’s strengths, which has always been in love with the land and its unique characteristics. Its hectares of land are mainly cultivated with Sangiovese, which is one of its most popular and enduring products. Name and address of producer/distributor: Querciabella - Via di Barbiano, 17, 50022 Greve in Chianti (FI). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
