A central figure in the history of Fumane and the Valpolicella Classica region, the Allegrini family has always been committed to safeguarding the territories in which it operates, along with their culture and traditions. Thanks to significant innovations in viticulture and winemaking, whilst always keeping an eye on the history of the vine and wine, Allegrini succeeds, bottle after bottle, vintage after vintage, in showcasing its 150 hectares of vineyards, which produce unique and prestigious wines—the result of the company’s refined style and the harvest of grapes grown exclusively on family-owned land. Unlike Amarone and Ripasso, Valpolicella Classico Superiore Grola does not undergo the traditional grape drying process, but after the harvest, it is fermented in stainless steel and subsequently aged in second-use French oak barriques for 16 months and in the bottle for a further 10 months. It is made from a selection of Corvina Veronese grapes grown at an altitude of around 300 metres. Per 100 ml: 330 kJ/79 kcal
This is a full-bodied, intense and elegant red wine from Veneto. Ruby red in colour in the glass, it offers a very broad aromatic spectrum ranging from hints of red berries and juniper to finishing notes of tobacco and coffee. On the palate, it is full-bodied, dry and possesses an incredible elegance, thanks to skilful ageing in the cellar.
Perfect for any occasion, it pairs best with red meats or mature cheeses.
To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.
