TASTING NOTES

Production

Perhaps Jermann’s most iconic label, and certainly one of the most prestigious in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, this white wine takes its name from Tunina, the former owner of the vineyard where the grapes used to make it are grown. There are five grape varieties: Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Ribolla Gialla, Malvasia Istriana and Picolit, some of which are harvested late. It is a true blend: the varieties ferment together in stainless steel, then part of the wine is transferred to large wooden barrels for ageing.

Organoleptic Characteristics

The result is magnificent: a brilliant colour with golden highlights, heralding a broad nose built on honey, fresh flowers and exotic fruit. The palate is dry yet wonderfully smooth and exceptionally long-lasting.

Occasion and Pairing

A wine for special occasions, where it can be paired with elaborate fish dishes, white meats and vegetables, right through to truffle-infused pasta dishes.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 10–12°C.

Allergens: Solfiti

THE WINERY

Jermann

Joaquin is one of the most fascinating and distinctive wineries in Campania, a symbol of authenticity, research, and respect for tradition. Founded by Raffaele Pagano in the early 2000s, the estate was born from a desire to rediscover and enhance the great native grapes of Irpinia and the Vesuvian area, reinterpreting them through an artisanal approach and a deep understanding of the land. The vineyards are located between Montefalcione and Lapio, in the heart of Irpinia, with selected plots also along the Amalfi Coast and the island of Capri. On these clay and volcanic soils, Joaquin crafts wines of remarkable complexity and personality, combining the strength of the Campanian terroir with an unmistakable elegance of style. Joaquin’s production philosophy is based on minimal intervention and maximum respect for the grapes: hand harvesting, spontaneous fermentations, long aging, and no technological shortcuts. Every step, from vineyard to bottle , is guided by the desire to express the truest soul of the land and to celebrate time as a defining value in winemaking. Key grape varieties include Fiano and Greco for whites, Aglianico for reds, along with rare and ancient cultivars that the winery revives with passion. The result is a collection of wines with deep identity, remarkable longevity, and emotional intensity. Each bottle of Joaquin is a liquid tale of Southern Italy, a meeting of history, landscape, and contemporary sensitivity that pays tribute to the greatness of Campanian wine culture. Producer/distributor name and address: Joaquin Azienda Agricola - Via Ciampa di Cavallo, 3, 83030 Montefalcione (AV), Italy. The cellar products should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from heat sources.
