Damijan Podversic is an authority on orange wines. He started viticulture on his estate in the Collio region of Gorizia at a very young age and was soon successful. A pupil of the legendary master Josko Gravner, Damijan produces wines that are an expression of the grape and this land, characterised by long macerations, according to the traditions of the area. Ribolla Gialla is an extraordinary example of this, representing the full interpretation of Podversic's philosophy of thought: a natural process, with low use of sulphites, spontaneous fermentation and long maceration on the skins to allow the aromas to be extracted, with the aim of creating a genuine, artisanal wine. Produced from monovarietal Ribolla Gialla grapes, this wine already seduces the eye with its bright and lively amber colour. Intriguing on the nose, complex and of great intensity, it is reminiscent of ripe fruit, orange peel, hazelnut and is enriched with nuances of aromatic herbs. On the palate, it has impressive length, rich, enveloping and of interminable persistence, with delicate tannin and a well-presented mineral character. Unforgettable on the palate with great importance, perfect with smoked fish, white meats or mushrooms.
