TASTING NOTES

Production

Bressan’s Venezia Giulia Pinot Noir is grown in the hillside vineyards of eastern Friuli, in a soil and climate ideal for expressing the most authentic and terroir-driven character of this delicate grape variety. The Pinot Noir grapes are harvested by hand at full ripeness and vinified according to the winery’s philosophy, which respects natural processes and the integrity of the fruit. Fermentation takes place using traditional maceration methods, without forcing the process, to extract structure and complexity without compromising the varietal elegance. Ageing continues in traditional containers, where the wine develops balance and depth, whilst maintaining a strong artisanal and terroir-driven identity.

Organoleptic Characteristics

On the nose, it opens with intense, layered aromas of ripe red berries, cherry and raspberry, followed by darker notes of undergrowth, delicate spices and subtle earthy hints. With aeration, balsamic nuances and a slightly smoky touch emerge. On the palate, it is enveloping and deep, with fine yet present tannins, lovely freshness and a long, harmonious finish that echoes the olfactory sensations.

Occasion and Pairing

A wine of character and personality, it is ideal for serving at important lunches and dinners. Perfect with simple red meats, roasts, premium poultry, light game and dishes featuring mushrooms or truffles.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.

THE WINERY

Bressan

Bressan is a reference name for those looking for authentic wines faithful to the Friulian tradition. The winery, with ancient roots in the heart of Friuli Venezia Giulia, has for generations carried out a family project driven by a passion for the area and a desire to guard its identity. The company stands out for a rigorous production philosophy, which favors natural practices in the vineyard and minimal interventions in the cellar, with the aim of enhancing the unique character of each native vine. The vineyards extend among the most suitable areas of the region, on soils rich in minerals which give the wines complexity and longevity. Among the cultivated varieties, a central role is reserved for historic Friulian vines, such as Friulano, Verduzzo, Schioppettino and Pignolo, flanked by international grapes that find an original interpretation here. The meticulous care of the vineyards, combined with low yields and a nature-friendly approach, allows us to obtain healthy and concentrated grapes, the basis of wines with a strong personality. Winemaking takes place without technological shortcuts: spontaneous fermentations, no filtration and long refinements in oak barrels, which contribute to giving structure and elegance. Each Bressan bottle tells a story of authenticity, tradition and indissoluble bond with the Friulian land. Name and address producer/distributor: Azienda Agricola Bressan - via Conti Zoppini, 35, 34072 Farra d'Isonzo (GO). The cellar products should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from heat sources.
