Damijan Podversic is a leading figure in the world of orange wine who, on his estate in the Collio Goriziano region, began working in viticulture at a very young age and quickly achieved success. A pupil of the legendary master Josko Gravner, Damijan produces wines that are an expression of the grape and this land, characterised by long macerations, in keeping with local traditions. Nekaj, from the Slovenian word for ‘something’, is a wine made from 100% a href="https://www.signorvino.com/it/vini/bianchi/friulano/" Friulano grapes. After the harvest, fermentation takes place on the skins for 60–90 days in truncated-cone-shaped oak vats, followed by ageing in 20–30 hl barrels for 3 years and a further year of refinement in the bottle.
Golden yellow in colour, the nose reveals distinct notes of ripe yellow-fleshed fruit, candied orange and quince. Soft, full-bodied, savoury and intense, with excellent balance. This wine expresses a honeyed elegance that intertwines with a slight, characteristic bitter note and fades into the minerality typical of the terroir.
To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 10–12°C.
