TASTING NOTES

Production

The harvest takes place slightly later, in late October, to allow the grapes to increase their sugar content. Vinification involves a process aimed at producing a wine of great richness and complexity, vinified as if it were a red wine, with a long maceration on the skins of at least 20–30 days. 100 ml: E=297 kJ/72 kcal

Organoleptic Characteristics

Visually, the wine presents an intense golden colour, enriched with orange hues. On the nose, it offers a rich and complex bouquet, with clear and delicate hints of citrus and yellow fruit, accompanied by elegant smoky and sulphurous notes. On the palate, the wine perfectly mirrors the nose, revealing a return of citrus notes of orange, grapefruit and hints of lime, with a finesse and elegance that set it apart.

Occasion and Pairing

It pairs beautifully with a wide variety of dishes, particularly fish dishes, especially those served raw and slightly oily fish. It is also highly appreciated in Asian cuisine, making an excellent accompaniment to sushi and sashimi. In the Mediterranean tradition, it pairs well with meat and game dishes, particularly with kid and lamb.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 10–12°C.

THE WINERY

Ottella

As a book on the history of Venetian wines testifies that, the Montresor family, owners of the Cantina Ottella, were among the best producers of Lugana as early as 1905. Since 1964, Lodovico Montresor has been working to give this important white label a strong and recognisable identity, which led to the creation of the specific designation a few years later. Situated in a region that is particularly well suited to viticulture, the Ottella vineyards extend across an area of glacial origin, whose clay and limestone soils are the result of centuries of debris accumulation. Extreme care is devoted to each vine, for which a double-arched implant system is preferred. A ventilated microclimate gives the final touch to the grapes, promoting the growth of excellent, healthy grapes. At the Ottella Winery, the fruit is processed in the most natural way possible, emphasising the flavour with very few ingredients, to make simplicity an added value. The Ottella wines obtained encapsulate all the essence of the soil in which they are grown, releasing mineral notes that are intriguing on the palate. Name and address of producer/distributor: Ottella - Loc. Boschetti, 37019 San Benedetto di Lugana, 37019 Peschiera del Garda (VR). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
