Valpolicella Superiore La Bandina is a dry red wine produced by Tenuta Sant'Antonio, belonging to the Valpolicella DOC. The Castagnedi brothers’ production philosophy is based both on their in-depth wine making expertise and a deep respect for the environment, paying close attention to every stage of the supply chain. This is how their wines are born, including the Valpolicella Superiore La Bandina DOC, which is produced from a blend of: Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Oseleta and Croatina. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel containers, followed by ageing in new French oak barrels for 24 months. The result is a wine that is a fairly intense ruby colour with a slight maroon hue to the glass. On the nose it expresses hints of berries and cherries, accompanied by notes of aromatic herbs and liquorice. In the mouth, it is balanced and round, with soft tannins and good freshness. Perfect for everyday drinking, it goes well with red meat dishes.
