TASTING NOTES

Production

Protagonist of the history of Fumane and Valpolicella Classica, the Allegrini family has always been committed to becoming custodians of the territories in which it operates, of culture and traditions. Thanks to important innovations in the viticultural and oenological fields, with an eye always oriented towards the history of vines and wine, Allegrini manages bottle after bottle, year after year, to enhance its 150 hectares of vineyards which give birth to unique and prestigious wines, result of the refined corporate style and the harvest of the grapes that grow exclusively on the family land. Unlike Amarone and Ripasso, Valpolicella Classico Superiore Grola does not undergo a drying process of the grapes as per tradition, but after the harvest it carries out fermentation in steel and subsequent refinement in second passage French oak barriques for 16 months and in bottle for another 10 months. It comes from a selection of Corvina Veronese grapes placed at around 300 meters above sea level.

Organoleptic Characteristics

It is a vino Venetian red with good body, intense and elegant. Ruby red in color in the glass, it has a very wide aromatic range that ranges from hints of red berries with juniper, to final notes of tobacco and coffee. On the palate the sip is full, dry and of an incredible elegance given to it by a skilful refinement in the cellar.

Occasion and Pairing

Perfect for any type of occasion, it finds the best pairing with red meats or mature cheeses.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, Valpolicella Classico Superiore Grola should be served at a serving temperature of 16/18°C.
