TASTING NOTES
The Marion company is a small family-run business in Marcellise di San Martino Buon Albergo, a 10-minute drive from Verona. The wine cellar is located in a Renaissance villa owned by Count Marioni which dates back to the sixteenth century. Marion, founded in the 1980s by Stefano Campedelli, his wife Nicoletta and his brother Marco, covers about twenty hectares and also includes rented land. The company philosophy is based on taking meticulous care in all phases of wine production, especially managing the vineyards to protect the plants’ natural balance. Valpolicella Borgo Marcellise is a Veneto red wine of great pleasantness and immediacy, as well as discreet organoleptic complexity. It is made from Corvina, Rondinella and other varieties and is aged in stainless steel for 12 months. Ruby red in the glass, it exudes delicate but intense notes of raspberries and cherries as well as herbaceous and undergrowth nuances. On the palate it flows subtly, with excellent full flavour and freshness. The wine has good length. An everyday wine perfect for a rich platter of cured meats and cheeses.
