Production

The Donnafugata winery was founded in Sicily by the Rallo family, who, driven by passion, have succeeded in raising the profile of Sicilian wine worldwide. Together with Dolce&Gabbana, sharing a common love for Sicily and attention to detail, the Tancredi Limited Edition D&G red wine was created, a proud ambassador of Made in Italy, whose label aims to express the precious union between tradition and modernity. It is a special edition bottle of one of the winery’s most famous wines, the Tancredi red, whose name pays homage to the beloved character from the novel The Leopard. Made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Nero d’Avola and Tannat grapes, sourced from the vineyards of the Contessa Entellina estate in south-western Sicily, this wine offers the comforting warmth of the Mediterranean thanks to its noble and revolutionary character. Organoleptic Characteristics

A good maceration on the skins and 12 months’ ageing in oak barrels give us an intense colour, with a ruby heart and garnet highlights; complex and decidedly intriguing on the nose, it evokes the aromas of wild berries and dark fruits, aromatic herbs and the spicy notes of liquorice and tobacco. The nose captivates with its class, a substantial structure with velvety tannins and great richness on the palate.

Occasion and Pairing

Soft and harmonious, yet with a pleasant freshness, Tancredi is perfect with red meats and game. Try it with tuna.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 14–16°C.

The entire company territory is among the UNESCO World Heritage sites: 25 hectares of vineyard and 75 hectares of forest preserved in an ideal ecosystem, located in the Rolle hills, the heart of the DOCG. The company only processes its own grapes with full respect for the land and the environment. Signorvino in close cooperation has exclusively “adopted” an entire Cartizze vineyard of about 1.2 Ht.
