Champagne De Vilmont honours the noble Marquis of St. Crevés, François Alphonse Donatien De Vilmont from the late 1700s. It is said that, as an officer in the royal guards of Louis XVI, after achieving an important military victory against the Austro-Prussian armies, he celebrated on the battlefield of Valmy by swilling a bottle of Champagne. Today, the De Vilmont brand demonstrates the same courage and pride by offering the highest quality product of the renowned AOC region, made from grapes from the Premier Cru Rilly La Montagne area, a short distance from the more famous Reims. Indeed, the world of De Vilmont is interwoven with the noble perlage of its effervescent wines produced according to the Metodo Classico.
