TASTING NOTES

Production

Pieropan’s Soave Classico La Rocca is a Venetian white wine made exclusively from Garganega grapes, grown on volcanic soils at an altitude of between 200 and 300 metres and sourced from the vineyard of the same name, situated at the foot of the castle in the village of Soave. The harvest takes place in two stages at the end of October to ensure the ripest bunches are selected. Vinification and ageing on fine lees takes place in large barrels for at least one year, followed by a few months’ bottle ageing. 100ml: E = 331kJ/79kcal

Organoleptic Characteristics

In the glass, it is golden yellow, whilst the nose reveals notes of ripe yellow fruit, tropical fruit and sweet citrus, with a spicy finish. On the palate, it is elegant and full-bodied, with a perfect balance between soft and firm notes.

Occasion and Pairing

An excellent wine of great versatility, it ranges from an aperitif for those who love wines with great aromatic complexity, to pairing with white meats or vegetarian dishes.

Serving Temperature

THE WINERY

Pieropan

Piper-Heidsieck is one of the most iconic and prestigious Champagne houses in France, founded in 1785 in Reims by Florens-Louis Heidsieck with the ambition of creating “a Champagne worthy of a queen,” to the point that the first cuvée was presented to Marie Antoinette. The current name was established in 1838 from the union between the Heidsieck family and Henri-Guillaume Piper, marking the beginning of an international expansion that would bring the house worldwide success. In 1995, a modern winery was inaugurated, featuring over 200 temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to vinify each plot separately. The blends are carefully crafted, and the wines are aged for extended periods to ensure elegance and complexity. Since 2018, the young and talented Émilien Boutillat has led the cellar, bringing freshness and innovation while honoring Piper-Heidsieck’s signature style. In 2022, the house became the first Champagne producer to earn the prestigious B-Corp certification, thanks to its commitment to environmental sustainability, transparency, and the use of renewable energy. Piper-Heidsieck is also one of the most awarded Champagne houses in the world and was named “Best Champagne House” by Falstaff in 2021. Today, Piper-Heidsieck represents the perfect balance of tradition and modernity: a house that combines history, innovation, style, and environmental awareness, offering Champagnes that embody French excellence and elegance. Producer/distributor name and address: Piper Heidsieck, Reims – France, 12 Allée du Vignoble. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
