TASTING NOTES

The Rosso di Montalcino of Biondi Santi is produced exclusively from Sangiovese Grosso grapes from the company’s youngest vineyards. The grapes are harvested by hand, taken to the cellar where they are fermented in cement tanks at a controlled temperature and then finish aging in large Slavonian oak barrels for a year. In the glass it has an intense and brilliant ruby red color. The nose immediately emerges fruity notes of black currant and small red fruits, followed by more floral hints of violet and rose, followed by slightly spicy and mineral notes. In the mouth the mouthfeel is dry and elegant, with silky and elegant tannins, a pleasing freshness that balances the body of the wine. All these characteristics make this Tuscan red a wine to be opened on special and important occasions. To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 14/16 ºC. THE WINERY

Biondi Santi

In the area of Montalcino and Pienza in the province of Siena, is the Biondi Santi winery, on the Tenuta Greppo estate. In an area known worldwide for its fine Tuscan red wines, Biondi Santi stands out for its Brunello, which has been produced, innovated and improved since the 19th century. After Clemente Santi started winemaking thanks studying the Sangiovese Grosso typical of the area, the winery still remains closely linked to its origins and history, recognised internationally for the production of sophisticated, elegant and refined wines. All while paying the utmost attention to organic and sustainable viticulture. With 25 hectares of vineyards, the estate produces no more than 80,000 bottles a year, including 10,000 of Brunello Riserva. The prestige of these Tuscan wines is influenced by many factors. Only the best grapes are selected, from vineyards that are at least 10 years old - and 25 years old for the Riserva. After being harvested completely by hand, the grapes are destemmed, crushed and fermented, which takes place at a controlled temperature in cement vats and tanks. Finally, the wine ages in oak barrels and is bottled no less than four years after harvest. Name and address of producer/distributor: Biondi Santi - Villa Greppo, 183, 53024 Montalcino - Siena - Italia. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
